“Crisis? What crisis?” …. Let’s be honest with ourselves and those we deal with (especially the Chinese). There will be no “negotiated or other diplomatic agreement” to dissuade the CCP to relinquish their claims to sovereignty of the area defined by their “Nine-Dashed Line”. It’s either capitulation .. or .. not.

Let’s get over the hand-wringing and deal with it … 🤔

Leaving out so many details that this is basically propaganda. The issue of Thitu island is that the Philippine military wanted to construct a military base on disputed territory. China effectively stopped this from occurring without firing a single shot, despite having overwhelming military force in comparison to the Philippine military. Also, China has been more than willing to engage in joint resource exploration and even to compromise on its SCS claims, as they did with Vietnam. If the U.S. wasn't destabilizing the region then everyone would be able to get along. The Philippine president has frequently complained about U.S. pressure to start a war with China.

compare to US control of gitmo. China action in SCS is mild. will US be willing to abandon gitmo as an example to China? at the end of the day, US has not set a good example for anyone to follow. the international court has demanded US to return the island in the indian ocean to the native that they forcefully evicted. until now the native are still not allow home. so what justify is there fore US to pressure China when China can response "but this is how you behave too"?

China has the legitimate right to these islands, a historical article by a writer confirmed the details. https://www.quora.com/If-China-does-not-obey-and-leave-the-South-China-Sea-will-America-have-the-right-to-sink-the-Chinese-fleet-and-blockade-Chinese-ports/answer/Patrick-Law-22?ch=1&share=ea3a60a3&srid=XHhv&fbclid=IwAR24g7hMqLPnJKdGTViOgH1ifE5n7UDBIeu637meQPBpHb-Q1vidQLziTdo
