Hi! I’m in 8th grade but am looking for majors so I have a good idea of what I want to do in high school. I’ve been interested in Marine Biology but I’ve heard it’s very hard to find a job when you finish college. If I do get a Marine Biology degree I don’t want to waste it if I can’t find a job. Any advice? 🙂

I am only a sophomore in High School and I have always loved the ocean, lakes, ponds whatever. Just overall marine life is great. We had this project about future colleges and The university of Miami ended up fitting me and my interests just right. Seeing this video is a blessing really, this video showed me the campus, living space, people, work, and dedication it takes to be part of the U. Thank you for this video it was very helpful and eye opening! Good luck with your marine biology career!

The school I go to doesn’t have marine sciences as a major would majoring in biology help in me becoming a marine biologist ?

I really enjoyed this video, since this is something I’m considering doing as a career. Could you do a video about your path of marine biology, like what made you want to pursue it, what classes you took in high school and what classes you’re taking now, and what you plan to do once you graduate? 🌊 🐬

Thank you for this! I'm 23 years old with no real education that will allow me to study at a university. Starting that journey next year, and hoping to end up with a grade in marine biology (is hoping for a PhD too ambitious?)

can you do a video on how you study for your marine biology tests

  • Reply i dk July 25, 2019 at 10:28 am

hi! so i’ve always felt a deep connection to the ocean and it’s inhabitants so nadine biology seems like it would be a career that i’d really love! i was just wondering, if it’s not too personal, what your high school gpa was? and did u take advanced classes? i am going into my junior year and my weighted gpa is a 3.5. I get a lot of B’s on my report cards and i was wondering if that would prevent me from getting into a good school for marine biology (like university of miami)? 🌊

I really have a passion and this unconditional love for the ocean. Unfortunately I get discouraged because of the low demand and pay.. but you really brightened my day and changed my mindset . I rather do what’s right for our oceans and love what I do rather than hate my job with a lot of money 🙂

Awesome content. Keep them coming. I am currently working for the D. O. D. in the Air Force. Marine Biology has always been fascinating to me. I am planning on going into Marine Biology before I have a chance to retire. Good for you to get to persue your dreams so early in life.

I'm only a sophomore in high school, but ever since I was little I have wanted to go into some sort of marine vet or marine biology, and watching your videos really makes me even more excited than ever to pursue my dream! I live in Michigan so I haven't had a lot of chances to be around the ocean, so I am extremely excited to move somewhere warm! Also, I am extremely considering Miami for my schooling now! It looks like an amazing campus. Thank you for your videos 🙂 Please post more!

Amazing video! If anything this just fueled my love for the ocean. Ive been very intent on studying and reaching for that acedemic success in school. Besides the point UM is deffinetly one of my top choices for college, but im slightly concerned because im also persuing musical arts (concert band or jazz) and i dont know how many places around would be good for my choices.
Im typing too much, the point is inspiring video, and amazing insight into the life of a student in UM. Keep striving for success!
