Garmin Force ICAST 2019

July 11, 2019

okay we're out here testing the new garment force which has a bunch of really cool features one of the things I really loved was how you can directionally run the motor with the remote look at the head going and speed to another real cool thing on this with the anchor function if you're zipping along and you mark something on your sonar right there you just hit the anchor function and it'll actually take you right back to the exact spot when you hit it so if you marked a fish or a bar or whatever they'll bring you right back and one thing we haven't talked about is the stove and and deploy is that all assisted with the kind of assistant when you bring it up and down so it makes real easy to pull off and I see the motor automatically decide to adjust that that's a nice feature that's awesome I mean these guys have really thought about everything and even just the simple thing like having that directional arrow on the head is really nice because I know I've been running my boat and end up going in circles sometimes also the pedal is all Wireless and done away with cable but it kind of still feels like cable so if you're used to cable pedal it's not that much and you can actually power that with batteries or wire it hardwire it right and you said the price was 3,100 for the 52 inch shaft and 3,200 for the 57 inch shaft and that includes everything everything here remote the foot pedal the trolling motor all the accessories you know like that cable is typically an accessory goodbye comes with the Garmin the kickstand that holds it on the deck I mean that comes with it you don't have to worry about buying any of that stuff and the other cool feature – sorry the anchoring you can kind of jog it around yeah so like right now I'm in Inc remote so if I were to hit you know to the right it'll actually steer us you can see it's turning its gonna bring us to the right a few feet can you just how far you want yeah you just even hit it twice if you wanted to go a little bit further forward if you want to go you know a little further forward do you find I mean the bass pros are so used to these pedals and find some of them converting to the handheld um some of them might use it you know if they've got a lot of people in the boat or they're on a guy you need that hand to fish yeah so bass fishing you're typically gonna be on a foot pedal yeah yeah very cool all right so that is the Garmin force

Does the Ghost allow for depth contour following using a Garmin MFD—- like you can do with a 'Bird and i-Link?

I'll consider this long before a new Lowrance Ghost! But for now, I'm 2 weeks into my new Ultrex which is absolutely incredible and a THOUSAND DOLLARS less than the two new units by Garmin and Lowrance. Looking forward to a more detailed viewing on the features as this was pretty weak with the technical features and operational aspects.

I wish it had auto deploy and stow. Especially for that price tag
