I advise ya send cash. There's an airforce base located two miles away from me. They should've have a issue with bringing my payment. We should be friends again buddy. I am not one to just rip off. I have merc friends and vet friends Everywhere. They're wondering why you would tarnish your own rep over this. I'm not though my question is where's my payment? You gave me a job I did the job. You recorded it yourselves I gave you photographic and video evidence of job being done. Also security footage captured me doing so. Which also you took away from location due to it showed I beheaded the target with a pocket knife. You can't ignore this. Christ you can't even do anything to me in any aggressive manner. Keep in mind I do punish those who do not pay. Remember me now General? Since you were notified of this multiple times yet refuse to do something. In the mean time. The hounds are hungry and I've served a rather delicious meal. Hounds gotta eat. A lion needs to eat sheepy.

My son was the first Marine Corps Vocalist to go through the Naval School of Music; he graduated in September 2018. He auditioned on his trumpet, completed boot camp, earned the title, completed MCT, entered the Naval School of Music studying the trumpet and when the new vocalist MOS opened up, he auditioned to become a vocalist. He is a gifted musician and while there are many avenues for musicians to take, I am proud that he chose to serve his country. There are many roles in the Marine Corps and all are vital in defending and supporting our country. ALL of our Armed Forces make it possible for you assholes to continue to practice your free speech. *Shameless plug: to see/hear him sing the National Anthem at the Alsco 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, give him a search! For those of you who have griped about the efficiency of a vocalist MOS within the confines of "warfighting capability", let me just enlighten you. The military also prides itself on international relations and welfare. Music is a universal language that permeates barriers that any other MOS could not. The amount of conflicts that have been avoided due to established community relations may be unknown but it is definitely noticed.

Additionally, if you are someone who joined the military or wants to join solely to kill someone, don't bother joining, get in line, but least of all, don't blame musicians. They are here to prevent death (on both sides), support tradition and culture, and create and atmosphere that encourages and uplifts Esprit de Corps. However, when push comes to shove, don't worry, they can still properly send a bullet down range.

Remember when the marine corps used to be a fighting force?

You are awesome girl! Voice is amazing.

  • Reply Blake Gorham July 26, 2019 at 9:02 am

Aren't we supposed to be killers?

  • Reply TheZestyGoat July 26, 2019 at 9:02 am

We aren’t a warfighting organization anymore. We care more about how uniforms look and singing than about how Marines train and fight. We’re so weak and sad now.

better than humping 30 fucking miles once a month for conditioning…Semper Fi, Semper sing…

  • Reply Eric Littleton July 26, 2019 at 9:02 am

Half of you people in the comments are most definitely POGs or civilians there is no reason for you to be mad, you have no right. The Corps has, and always will be a well oiled fighting machine and a singing marine will not interfere with this. Every marine past and present, despite their MOS deserves respect and you people are just being children, that is the true disgrace.

  • Reply Bolun Liu July 26, 2019 at 9:02 am

Imagine Gunnery Sergeant Hartman (RIP Gunnery Sergeant R Lee Ermey) reading her MOS assignment.

  • Reply Ivy Stiles July 26, 2019 at 9:02 am

Amazed to see the responses here. As if all Marine MOS equally supported the ultimate goal of being the finger on the trigger. Motor T doesn't pull the trigger, but those that do wouldn't complain about their MOS. Admin doesn't pull the trigger, and we ALL complain about them … until we need our paperwork completed. Public Affairs, Intel, Comm, Mechanics, Avionics, Logistics, Supply, Electrician, need I go on? Linguist, Training, Photographer, CBRN, MP, Aviation Electronics, Aviation Maintenance, Aviation Ordnance, Meteorology, Air Traffic Control, and yes, Field Music, all support those in Combat Arms. So why the chip on the shoulder? Every enlisted Marine in all of these MOS go to PI or San Diego, and only after graduation do they then get to go into these fields. Is the issue that Marine Music is a waste of manpower? Or is it jealousy because Musician was the only specialty MOS in 1775? Want a better Marine Corps? Demand that all Marines, regardless of MOS complete the most challenging PFT requirements possible, and not just annually, and that all units participate in daily fitness regime. Demand that all qualify on the range annually, but receive combat related training throughout the year. Demand that all participate in field exercises. When deployed, demand that all Marines participate in the mission, whether inside or outside the wire. Or wbm&c. I know that Marine Music is predominately ceremonial in nature, but ceremonies have historically been a part of the Marine Corps and set the Corps apart from the other services, and at most 1/2 % of Marines are devoted to Marine Music. In the 70s 1% of Marines were musicians, so like many MOS, the numbers are decreased, in large part to provide manpower for data driven MOS. May be good or bad but it is a fact of life. So, welcome Marine vocalist. There may eventually be a dozen of you in the Corps. Do your job to the absolute best of your abilities and remember that everything you do reflects on the Corps.

If she can fight and be a standard rifleman first, then a vocalist job should be fine. Singing might seem unrelated to war which the marines were originally meant for, but then what about the rest of the band? Just like how the rest of the marine band members train their musical ability to represent for the USMC, she also must refine her singing skills, high notes and low notes and stuff, and practice so she can represent it. If you think about it it makes sense to have a vocalist MOS in my opinion. She should be held to the same standards as everyone else though, like everyone should.

Nothing against this seemingly squared away young Marine but come on. This seems like a waste of tax money and doing nothing for war fighting capabilities.

  • Reply Robert Wilson July 26, 2019 at 9:02 am

So we hire lazy piece of shit civilian contractors to handle our uniforms and shit, but decided it needs to be a Marine doing vocals, not just a civilian?

Everyone is criticizing her for being a singer but no one seems to complain when the bands come around and play motto songs. As a Marine Musician myself it’s disappointing to see this blatant disregard. She earned her title, same as a supply clerk and any other POG MOS.

  • Reply blisstickmystic July 26, 2019 at 9:02 am
