the methods in which you can apply for the Intelligence Bureau in India. “The Intelligence Bureau (IB) is India’s internal
intelligence agency and reputedly the world’s oldest intelligence agency. It was recast
as the Central Intelligence Bureau under the Ministry of Home Affairs. The Intelligence
Bureau is used to garner intelligence from within India and also execute counter-intelligence
and counter-terrorism tasks. The Bureau comprises of employees from law enforcement agencies,
mostly from the Indian Police Service (IPS) or the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) and the
of course the military. However, the Director of Intelligence Bureau
has always been an IPS officer. IB Jobs are classified into gazetted (Group
‘A’ and ‘B’) and non-gazetted (Group ‘C’ and ‘D’) positions. The recruitment in IB is based
on class level Group ‘A’ gazetted officers, Group ‘B’ senior inspector, Group ‘C’
and ‘D’ Grade 2 officers. The Class level Group ‘A’ gazetted officers
carry out coordination and higher-level of management of the IB. Subsidiary Intelligence
Bureaus (SIBs) are headed by officers of the rank of Joint Director or above, but smaller
SIBs are also sometimes headed by Deputy Directors. The various positions in Intelligence Bureau
under Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ are Director of the Intelligence Bureau, the post of which
are held by senior most Indian Police Service officer.
Special Director and additional directors are equivalent to Director General of Police,
Joint Deputy Director i.e. equivalent to Senior Superintendent of Police and Deputy Central
Intelligence Officer also equivalent to Additional Superintendent of Police.
The recruitments of Group ‘C’ & ‘D’ employees are Assistant Central Intelligence Officer
Grade-I and Grade || which is equivalent to Sr. Inspector of Police and Junior Intelligence
Officer Grade-I and Grade || also equivalent to Sub-Inspector of Police for grade 1 and
Head Constable of Police for grade 2. The notifications for various job openings
are advertised in the respective IB websites from time to time. An online information is
provided for most of the applicants either for filling the application form online or
