I'm just imagining one of those bots struggling with a heavy load. Then I get on the platform, grab the package, drop it in the bay for it. And then all of a sudden the rest of the bots pretend to struggle.

STOP using self checkout at grocery stores. You're eliminating jobs.
Stop shopping at Walmart. You're destroying small businesses.
Stop shopping at Amazon. You're destroying your own community.
Is convenience really worth not having a future?
Idiots. You have only yourself to blame for your kids non-existent future.

  • Reply Dark Madder July 28, 2019 at 1:23 pm

So, 70% less jobs then. 70% less people able to pay rent, eat etc. And how do they expect us to pay for the shit they churn out when they don't employ our inconvenient asses anymore? These things don't need to be weaponized to kill us all, the poverty and resulting warfare will take care of that. Great for the greedy 1% that will then say all our problems are due to overpopulation. Meanwhile vast empty swaths of land everywhere with impoverished folks jammed into the cities that originally drew them in hoping for work due to the industrial model. Automation only benefits humans if there is a social model, freeing people from mindless labour so we could dedicate ourselves to truly great pursuits. This is how industrialization was sold to us, but of course why would greedheads pay you to stay home? If you can't smell the genocide required to complete this technological wonderland, then you must own stock in this kind of shit. You are going to have an army of bots ready to deliver mass amounts of product to folks who no longer exist. Fuck You "Wall-e"!…
